Blessed be the name of the Lord; all who are happy to see the last day of the year 2023 and know that the devil has lost the battle over them and no matter what, they shall see 2024, shout hallelujah!
All who are grateful that in spite of everything, because this has been a very challenging year, you are here, you are gaily dressed, you are joyful, nothing has been able to keep you back, praise the Lord!
Our Father and our God, if we stand here from now till tomorrow morning thanking You, it will not be enough for everything that You have done, for what You are doing and for what You are yet to do; for where You are bringing us from, from where we are now and for the glorious place to which You are taking us, thank You, thank You, thank You, thank You in Jesus name.
Our Father and our Lord, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One from whom all blessings flow, we give You praise, we give You glory, honor, adoration and majesty, continue to glorify Your name in the name of Jesus. Thank You for giving us Jesus and thank You because with Jesus, You have freely given us everything that pertains to life and to Godliness, blessed be Your holy name.
Lord Jesus, we want to thank You for coming to show us the way back to God; thank You for going to the cross to pay our debt of sin; thank You for going to the grave to conquer death and hell on our behalf, and thank You for rising on the third day to justify us, blessed be Your holy name. Thank You that You have ascended into heavens to sit at the right hand of the Father as our advocate, our intercessor and our eternal High Priest, You will never lose any case concerning us before the throne of grace, blessed be Your holy name.
Thank You because the Father will not ignore the voice of You, His only begotten Son concerning us, may Your name be forever magnified. As You continue to remind the Father of the blood that You shed on our behalf, that blood will continuously be sufficient for us, blessed be Your holy name.
Thank You that You have gone to prepare places for us; thank You Lord that when our work is done and our place is ready, You will come and take us unto You, blessed be Your holy name.
In the meantime, thank You for not leaving us comfortless, thank You for coming to dwell with us, in us and all around us by the power of Your Holy Ghost, may Your name be forever magnified. Three persons in one God, blessed holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, this morning we give You glory, we give You honor, adoration and majesty for Your continuous and concerted effort to do us good, may Your name continuously be glorified, blessed be Your holy name in Jesus matchless name.
Shout another hallelujah as a sign of gratitude that you already got the best!
The pastor called me about a week ago that I should come and talk to you that God leaves the best for the last and as I continue to pray over this topic, as I continue to meditate, I believe God is saying to me, He does not reserve the best for the last, what He did is give you the best, God already gave you the best, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and with Jesus Christ, the Bible says that He has also freely given you every other thing that pertains to life and to Godliness.
To life, here on earth because some of you think that it is when you die that you will go and start to enjoy; if you belong to God, your enjoyment starts now, eternal life is the final one, so God has given you the best, I hope I’ll be able to prove that from the word of God this morning, every other thing that you are going to have is what the Yorubas called jara, bonus; He has prepared the table, everything is laid out for you, when you meet the conditions necessary, He has no problem releasing it to you, you already legally have the best, amen!
I want to prove it this morning and the Holy Spirit will help me in Jesus name. Our God is good, that’s why we are thanking Him; our God is mighty, He does what nobody else can do and that’s why we praise Him. Our God is holy, when He says He will do something, He will do it, that’s why you are here this morning, it is by the grace of God that we are kept. When your mommy was praying, she said the people that started this year with us, some of them are no more, we are not rejoicing over the fact that they are no more, we are thanking God that it has pleased Him to show us mercy, it is by the mercies of almighty God that we are not consumed; oh yes we are praying, we try to obey God, we are holy, but we can never be good enough for all the benefits and the blessings that God loads us with.
He says in His words, I will be merciful unto whom He will be merciful; it is because He has been merciful unto me that I’m here this morning, otherwise I would have been dead some 42 years ago and headed straight for hell, thank God that He has given me the best gift; it is because He has not finished with any of you that you are here this morning, you could have woken up this morning and say uhm, I’m not going to church today, I will watch it on television.
Yes, you can watch it on television, but God did not allow the devil to chain you down in your house to watch television; the Bible says where two or three are gathered together in His name, He’s in their midst, His abiding presence is here, blessed be the name of the Lord!
So this morning, I want to assure you from the word of God that you already have the best gift, nothing else God can add to what He has given you, nothing can be subtracted from it. When Jesus hung on the cross, He said ‘it is finished’, everything God needed to do for you has been completely complete, perfectly made perfect; everything that Adam and Eve messed up, God in His infinite mercy restored it on the cross through the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth; God has restored to you the original mandate of provision.
People are going all over the place these days, they’ve become beggars very suddenly; here you are this morning, you came here, you brought yourself here, somehow you got here, if God has provided the means, blessed be His holy name. Some of you might have walked here, you don’t even have the money for transport but your pastor already prayed, you are not leaving here the way you came; that which God purpose to do for you as your Shepherd, He will begin it now in the name of Jesus.
God has restored to you the original mandate of wholesomeness – physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, psychological healing; sickness is not your portion, the Bible says God has carried your sorrow, He has carried your pain, He has carried your sickness, disease and infirmity, you don’t have to carry it, if you are carrying it, it’s as a result of ignorance or sometimes sin, I’m not accusing you of sin, I’m just telling you what the Bible says: the Bible says, God’s hand is not short that He is unable to deliver; His ears are not heavy that He cannot hear your prayer, but iniquity can separate us from God.
This morning, all that will be carried away in Jesus name, so that when you call, even as God has promised in this word that before you call, He will hear you, because before you open your mouth, He already knows what you want to say, that’s the kind of God we have; this morning, He will answer you by fire, and even as He also promised, He will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or imagine.
This is the kind of God that I’m talking to you about this morning, but let me go into the word to confirm that which I want to say to you so that you may believe that I really actually heard from God; God has given you the best legally, the problem is how to appropriate this best.
This morning, you are going to know how to appropriate it, so that you can move like the child of the King, like the royalty that you are. Presidents have a lot of money, some of them position, some of them influence and particularly in the world, the way they move, it’s as if to say they are the ones feeding the whole world in spite of the fact that it is our money that they are eating, amen!
So they carry themselves like royalty, you belong to the best family in the universe; this morning, you will begin to walk like that because that is what God has purposed for you.
Turn your Bibles to Romans 8: 28 – 32, I just want to confirm that legally, the table is already set, everything has been handed over to you, if you are not enjoying it, something is wrong and the wrongness will be removed this morning in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Romans 8: 28 – 32, “28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us (me and you) all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things”?
That’s the question that God is asking us this morning: He has given us His Son, what else will He not give us? Go to 2nd Peter 1: 3, the Bible says “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue”; with this Jesus that He has given us, He also has given us everything that pertains to life and Godliness (like I said a few minutes ago).
The Bible says He was with us in our mother’s womb; it is by His grace that some of us are standing here today, because so many years, centuries ago that our mothers were pregnant with us, awon ti won jo ni oyun wa, oyun t’elomiin jabo,(some of them were stillbirths), some of them were born alive but today, they are no more; we are not rejoicing at anybody’s calamity, what we are saying is that we have been foreknown, we have been predestined, we have been called, we have been justified and we have been glorified, that’s why we are here this morning.
The devil could have wasted us longest time and because God has not finished with you yet, this morning, He’s going to open your spiritual eyes, open your spiritual ears, touch the mind of your understanding to know who you are in Christ, so that you can walk like the children of the almighty God that you are, blessed be the name of the Lord!
The Bible says before you were formed in your mother’s womb, God knew you; while you were yet there, He called you and He ordained you a prophet to the nations, if that were not so, I won’t be standing here this morning because I came from a very complicated background, (I have only 40 minutes, that’s a long story, I can’t tell you this morning), but long story short, through thick and thin, I’m here and it is because God is and He’s the almighty God. The Bible says many are the counsels of a man’s heart, but the counsel of the almighty God that will stand; it is because His counsel stood for me that I’m here this morning, and it is because His counsel has stood for you that you are here this morning.
It does not matter what you are going through now because you can go through a lot of things like I said at the beginning; number one, maybe as a result of ignorance; number two, maybe as a result of sin, but by the time God finishes with you this morning, all those things that do not belong to children of God will be taken out of your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Having established through the word of God that He gave us His best gift, what is left now is for us to know how to appropriate this best gift; if we know how to appropriate the best gift, we’ll be the richest in the world. The Bible says our Father is the owner of heaven and earth; the cattle on a thousand hills, He owns the silver and the gold and then we are walking around like children of paupers.
This morning, the original mandate of provisions that He has restored to us, we’ll begin to walk in it in Jesus name. The original mandate of wholesomeness of spirit, soul and body, we’ll begin to walk in it in Jesus name. The original mandate of dominion that He has restored to us, we’ll begin to walk in it in Jesus name. People don’t have any reason to push us around, we are royalty, we are the children of the Most High God, but maybe because we don’t know our rights, maybe because of sin, they keep pushing us around, that will stop now in Jesus name. Because from now on, we are going to walk according to Hs word and when we do that, God will establish His purpose in the name of Jesus.
Now that we know that He has restored the original mandate, all that remains now is for us to go to the foot of the cross, number one, if we are not born again, (we will come to that later) to put everything at the foot of the cross and hand ourselves over to God, because some of us have been struggling for years – I struggled for several decades before God finally found me or I found God (I don’t know which is which), but I’m here this morning because I got to the end of the road, I had my back to the wall and all my stubbornness, all my self-will, all my social influence, all my money could not help me; when finally by the grace of God my eyes were open, my ears were open and God touched my heart, He gave me the grace to surrender my life to Him.
Some of you are bringing up your shoulder now, self-made man, there’s no self-made man, if you self-make yourself, at a point in time, you are going to come down, that’s not a curse, because it is only that which God does that is permanent , amen!
So this morning, it does not matter whether you are high or low, rich or poor, educated or uneducated, to this God almighty that created all of us, we are all welcome, all that He wants is for us to acknowledge that He’s our Maker, He’s our Creator, He knows what is best for us and when we come to that realization and we surrender our lives to Him, He will do for us which nobody else can do for us.
I just told you, in the 1970s (not these days when they rode bulletproof cars and all that), you could count jeeps on the road of Lagos on the finger of your right hand; it was the employees of Julius Berger that had the best jeeps. I rode a jeep, Mercedes 300 on the street of Lagos, power assisted in the 1970s, I was using all of these to cover my wahala; fire was burning under my skirt, burning under my everything, but finally, because of the grace and the mercy of God, God who has given us the best gift – the Bible says before the foundation of the earth, Jesus was slain for me and for you; they made Him manifest on Calvary tree more than 2,000 years ago, and He shed the last drop of His blood to bring you and I to salvation and anyone who will appropriate that sacrifice and say Lord Jesus, I’ve reached the end of the road, I don’t know where else to turn, I come to You, the best gift that You already prepared for me, I want to receive it this morning because it is only by receiving that gift that a way can be made. The Bible says He makes a way where there is no way.
When Pharaoh and his cohorts allies and agents with all of their weapons of war of those days were pursuing the children of Israel, I don’t know how many people are pursuing you now and they can be many, awon ti e mo, e e ka’pa won, what about the ones you don’t know? Some of them are even pretending that they are your friends, and it is a very dangerous thing to be living in a house with a viper thinking that it is a dove.
This morning, God will open your eyes, you will appropriate the sacrifice of the cross if you have never done that before; if you have done it before and gone back, you will come back again because the Bible says God is looking for backsliders, God never gives up on anybody until they breathe their last; as long as you are still breathing, there is hope for you, don’t think that you are too far gone and you cannot be rescued by God, He paid too dearly to let the blood of Jesus be wasted concerning you. This morning, the effectiveness of the blood in your life will be made manifest in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
I believe I have established that the best gift is already here, the other small gifts which I said were bonuses will be added as at when you have need. Now, like I’ve been saying, who are the people who are qualified to receive these best gifts? Only children of God; you know God is a merciful God, they say let the rain fall on the good and on the bad, on the wicked and on the unbelieving, but when it comes to this best gift that we are talking about, He doesn’t just throw it around, you have a responsibility – you have heard, it has been proved to you that it’s already yours, all you have is to take it.
I can preach from now till kingdom come, if you don’t come to salvation, God forbid, you can never have the best gift, but if you will humble yourself as I did on that day, on the 19th of March, 1981, and said to the General Overseer; I use to say I was the first woman to be born in his office when he became General Overseer and I said daddy, (we used to call him Dr. Adeboye), I don’t understand what you are talking about but I think that I want to try this God; I tried his God and I have never been disappointed.
The Bible says those who trust in the Lord will never ever be put to shame. I’m not saying when you become born again that’s a special gospel that all your problems are over; sometimes when you become born again, that’s when the devil starts to run after you with massive speed, but the thing is that the more he runs, he can never overtake you.
The Bible says they will surely gather, but because they are not gathered by God, those who gather concerning you contrary to you will fall for your sake. That is His word; He says they will fight you but they will never ever overcome you; that no weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper; that every tongue that rises in judgment against you, you will have a right to condemn them. This is the best gift that Jesus – the salvation package is a total package, once you receive that package today, if you know how to operate in it, you have everything. The Bible says God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I have a project at hand, maybe I should give that testimony; about a week and half ago, the man who is working on the project came to me, he needed so many millions, and I said to him, I don’t have that money now but I’m trusting God that by the first week of January, God will do something miraculous; it’s His job, if He’s the one who gave it to you, He will give you the provision to execute it. Three days after I made that proclamation, the exact amount that is needed was paid into my account.
Sometimes when pastors testify, you think they are telling you stories to bring you to God, no genuine pastor will hold the microphone on the pulpit and tell a lie; in a way that only He can bring it about, that money is already ready and when I called the man I said to him, come on Tuesday because I’m not on camp so that you can get your cheque, he said ha, mommy, I said that’s the God I’m talking to you about.
There’s nothing that you need that you cannot have in this total complete package; if you need ₦5 now, you don’t have to stand by somebody’s car after church and say I have no money for transport, in a way that is unexplainable, somebody might just come and say I like this hat that this lady is wearing this morning, let me just bless you before the new year and gives you an envelope. You may not even know them from Adam, and you don’t have to beg to live, it’s God that provides your needs, it’s because you are looking to men.
The Bible says it is a curse to look unto man, when you look unto God, He will bring the people to help you, He will never fail you; if you need ₦5, He’s going to provide it as at when due.
Earlier in my Christian life, we were going to make contribution for the camp land and GO called us that morning after Sunday service and said all those who are able to give a certain amount of money should come out.
I used to be very impulsive, I just jumped up, I made a vow in thousands (thousands of naira in those days are worth millions now). Then after I’ve done that, I said to myself, hey God, they say if we make a vow and we don’t pay, it’s a sin, where am I going to get this money from? Because if I issue it from the account of the company that we were running, there’s no way my husband would not know; he was born again that time but he was not standing properly yet; if I say they said we should do this in church, he would say are you the only one in church? I told you that man is a mathematician, be careful; I’m telling you a true story.
I woke up one morning, I was still working with the Daily Times, I was in the bath and I remembered this vow and I said to God, ha, July is coming, I owe you this amount o, where am I going to get it from? I just said that in the bath because sometimes you think that it is when you are kneeling down, closing your eyes and clasping your hands that you are praying, even thoughts of your heart that you have not spoken, if it has to do with what will glorify God, God is already answering. So I got to the office and I was in the process of settling down when I got a phone call from Ibadan, he said you are wanted now in Ibadan to sign the papers for this thing that you have been trying to sell for two and half years.
You can’t imagine it was like I wanted to give it away; it was the exact amount that I was owing God that they were going to pay for that project. I did not wait for my driver, he was in the driver’s pool resting, I just jumped into my car, that’s how dramatic I used to be; I drove straight to Ibadan, I drove back to Lagos; on my way back, I branched at the office and said that daddy GO, this is my vow and as soon as I left the office, God said this is what you asked me for, if you have asked for a million, I would have given it to you.
It’s not stacking money in the bank that is abundance or riches, the people who stack it in the bank, we are not rejoicing at their calamity, how many of them carry the money when they die? You are holding the position to your heart, you are not able to come to church, you won’t allow your deputy to preach, at every meeting, you are the only preacher, na you sabi, if you don’t leave the position, the position can leave you, amen!
And God is speaking to us in these last days, people are just dying like that; people you see today, tomorrow they will say they are dead and you will begin to think, am I dreaming? Is it true? But it’s true, I think I have some ‘satellite dish’ hats but not for today, but how many of them will you carry when you are going? You want to wear the best clothes, it’s good to be properly dressed, I used to tell people that at my age, if I don’t tell you how old I am, when I’m standing near mummy Netufo, they think we are the same yaya people.
Where I’m going this morning is that the only people who are qualified to get God’s best gifts are the people who will surrender their lives to Christ. It does not matter how much money you have now, it does not matter what your influence and position is now, it does not matter what they call you now, at the end of the day, it is your salvation, your relationship with God that nobody can take away from you.
So this morning, I want to call people unto salvation, because the best gift is already there, God already gave it legally, but you can’t have it unless you go through the proper channel. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and nobody comes to Him except the Father draws him. When the Father is drawing you this morning, don’t resist that drawing; 42+ years ago, I gave my life to Jesus, it’s not that I’ve not had problems, I have had so many problems, sometimes I would think it’s the end of the road, but very suddenly, God comes through.
God will come through for you today in every area where you need Him, but you must let Him be God because He’s God, besides Him, there is no other God; He’s the Alpha, He’s the Omega, He’s the beginning, He’s the ending; He knows where you are coming from, He knows where you are now, He knows where you are going.
So if you are here this morning and you have never given your life to Christ, it is your turn to come forward now to give your life to Christ or if you have given your life to Christ and as a result of what is happening in the world, you have started to go back, you have started to tell all kinds of stories – some of them are truth, some of them are half truth, some of them are blatant falsehood, it will not help.
So this morning, because God will not give His children’s food to dogs (I’m not the one who said so, it’s the Bible); you remember the woman that came to Jesus, pleading on behalf of her daughter, help me, demons are tormenting my daughter, You say children’s food are not for dogs, thank God the woman was brought quickly to revival, and she bowed and said ha, even the dogs eat from the crumbs that fall from the children’s table, I bow to you. God helped her, this morning He’s willing to help you.
And to the born again, people may look at it and think it is very religious, it’s not a religion, it’s a relationship with God; God, You created me, You made me, this is me, I want to give You my life; I’ve never regretted giving God my life and He has never disappointed me.
So if you are here this morning, you want to give your life to Christ or you have been born again and you have gone back because of the wahala that is happening; this year has been tough, but by the grace of God, again it’s not boasting, some of us have been able to eat what we want to eat, not what see, and we have been able to give to others by His grace also, it can happen to you.
The Bible says the poor will never cease from among you but it didn’t say that you are going to be the poor; if you choose to be the poor, it’s your problem but He did not say that you are going to be the poor. So if you are here this morning, you want your situation to change, the best gift that God has already prepared for you and set the table before you, come now to receive it.

Say Father, we’ve heard Your word, we have come; You say those who come unto you, You will never cast out; thank You that You have given Jesus for our sakes, this morning we come publicly to confess Him as Lord and Savior, Father, forgive our sins in the name of Jesus.
Write our names in the Book of Life in the name of Jesus, and from this morning as we turn our lives over to You, take us over in Jesus name; let Your kingdom come in our lives; let Your name be glorified in our lives and let our lives begin to bring pleasure to You, because You created us for Your pleasure; thank You Lord for salvation, blessed be Your holy name, in Jesus matchless name, amen!
If you believe you are saved, it does not matter how you feel, shout hallelujah! It’s not a matter of feeling if truly from the bottom of your heart you have made that confession, you are saved, and as God begins to move in your life, you will know that it is true, blessed be the name of the Lord.
And so Father God almighty, thank You Lord in the name of Jesus for translating these ones from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light, the kingdom of Your dear Son, Jesus. it does not matter what they have done, You say those who come unto You, You will never cast out; they are lifting their hands up to You in surrender, receive them Lord in the name of Jesus; every trading in blood that is hindering their progress, this morning, by the most precious blood in the universe, the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I cancel them in Jesus name; I revoke them in the name of Jesus.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I pray the Holy Spirit will begin to work in your life in the name of Jesus, to cause you to do only those things that is pleasing unto Him so that at every turn in every situation under every circumstance, the favor of God will be your portion. This day, your life has been changed; you will begin to go from glory to glory, from power to power, from miracle signs and wonders to miracle signs and wonders; you will not go back to your vomits in the name of Jesus.
Go in this power that God has given unto you and serve God till the very end, in Jesus mighty name.
And so Father God almighty, this morning we give You praise and glory for the opportunity to be here, thank You for all that You have done from January 1 to December 31, thank You for what You will continue to do; thank You almighty God for where You are bringing us from, thank You for where we are now and thank You for the glorious place to which You are taking us, we believe oh Lord in the name of Jesus that the work of the evil one is destroyed permanently in our lives by the power in the blood of Jesus.
Take us over anew and afresh, let Your kingdom come in our lives, let Your name be glorified in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You almighty God, blessed be Your holy name, in Jesus matchless name. Praise the Lord!
