The confidence that we have is that not only can we pray, but we have the confidence that when we pray, He hears us and He answers us. Its one thing to talk to someone and all they can do is listen, it’s another thing to talk to someone who can listen and do something about it, if you know that your God is dependable like that, throw your head back and shout a really loud hallelujah!
Let us pray; now my Father and my God, as we have come into Your presence today, we have not come here anyhow, we have come here with expectation; You said surely there is a hereafter and our expectation will not be cut off, so everyone of Your children who have come with expectation, do something wonderful, do something marvelous, do something miraculous, do that which only You can do so that when we leave this place today, we’ll be able to say my God has done me well, thank You my Father, glory be to Your holy name, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
I am honored to be in this place, I am honored to be here with my brother, our Pastor and Pastor (Mrs.) and all the ministerial staff and all of you that are here, I’m so grateful to be here.
Now I understand that I am not here for everyone but I am here for someone. It has been spoken over my life by my Daddy that any place that I stand, miracles will happen; so I am here today because there is someone whose miracle cannot wait, if you are that someone, I want you to shout the loudest hallelujah! So shall it be for you in Jesus mighty name.
Romans 8:28; I was so blessed by this wonderful praise ministry and when they sang that song, I said huh, God is a wonderful God. The New King James translations reads this way, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”, and because the Bible tells us in Job 22:28, “You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways”, I want you to help me to prophesy to someone on your right or on your left and tell them even in this, He’s working for my good.
Now, you have to be able to encourage yourself in the Lord your God, 1st Samuel 30:6 says David encouraged himself in the Lord his God; take one hand, put it on your own bosom and say hey self, this that I am in, is working for my good. If you believe it, shout hallelujah!
Job made it very clear to us in Job 14: 1, he said that a man that is born of a woman is of few days, and (they are) full of trouble. It appears to me that if we only have a few days, they didn’t all have to be full of trouble, we should have some that would not be so troublesome, yet the truth of the matter is for every advantage, there is an adversity; for every open window, there is a closed door; for every opportunity, you are going to deal with opposition; for every celebration, there will be consternation, and for every prophecy that is accepted, prepare for a personal attack, because the truth of the matter is life does not come with a warranty that you will not experience adversity.
You do not come into this life and escape this life without having problems come your way; and I’m talking to somebody that’s watching and listening to me, maybe our online church or someone that’s watching virtually, you’re trying to make it make sense as to why you are on the Lord’s side and yet the things that are happening are happening to you.
The truth about the truth is this, the moment that you are born, you are brought into this life with one thing that is certain and that is that trouble awaits you from the very first day. The moment you got birth into life, you have to be prepared for adversity that’s going to come against you, and Jesus who cannot lie made a statement, He said in John 16: 33 that in this world, you will have tribulation; He says but be of good courage, I have overcome the world. Meaning that because He is the greater One and He lives in us, the very things that He has overcome because He resides in us, we can overcome them as well.
For the record, it is in 1st John 4:4, it says you are God’s little children and have overcome them, why? Because greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world. He made the statement in the very beginning of that John 16:33, He said these things I have spoken unto you, that in me you may have peace. What is He doing? He is forewarning us before the adversity comes so that we can be prepared for it; to be forewarned is to be fore armed; He is making us ready so that we will not be ignorant of the devil’s devices, nor be thrown off when he attacks the way that he does. He states that our peace, our solace, our calm is not in this world but in Him. Because the record is in Acts 17: 28, it is in Him that we live, and in Him that we move, and in Him that we have our being.
So your attitude beloveds, your attitude, my brothers and my sisters, my sons and my daughters, your attitude is that I’ve got to protect how I look at what comes my way, not what comes my way, but I’ve got to protect my outlook on what comes my way. How do I see what the Lord is allowing to come and what does God want me to learn from this adversity?
I’ll never forget some years ago I was at home and I had a phone call from one of the members of our ministry, they called me and said Pastor, I’ve gotten a phone call from the hospital concerning my brother who is there, his kidneys have collapsed, they have him on life support and they said for us to get to the hospital to say our last goodbyes, and then they ask me, will you come up and do the last rites? Because the hospital chaplain had told them to call their priest to come and do the last rites.
So I told them I’m on my way, don’t move him, don’t do anything until I get there and when I got there, I saw outside of the hospital room were all of the nieces and the nephews and the well-wishers; I went inside of the hospital room and there was the young man on an air tent with tubes connected to him and machines and they said that he was just being kept alive by the machine. His mother, his father, his older siblings were in the room and when I walked into the room, mama who stood about so tall just collapsed right into my arms and I embraced mama, and she said thank you for coming, and his father who trying to be strong just wiped a tear and came and put his hand on my shoulder and the siblings were there weeping.
And as I came into the room I saw all of them as they were and I wrapped my arm around mum and put my arm around the shoulder of dad and I told all of the siblings to follow out of the room, and as they coming out of the door of the room, I opened the door and I pushed all of them gently out and they said are you going to do the last rites? I said no, we don’t do last rites, we do resurrection and I shut the door.
When I shut the door, I remembered that Jesus had put all of the spectators out of the room at Darius’ house before He did what He had to do. The young man that was laying on that air mattress with the tubes and the machines connected to him was named Joseph, and I got down close to him and I got right into his ear and I hollered and I said Joe, I know you can hear me, they said he was in a coma; I called and said I know you can hear me, if you can hear me, smile, and he smiled. And I said Joe, you can’t die yet, you have work to do, if you can hear me, smile, and he smiled.
I said I have to go and do a meeting in another city; I’ll be back in one week, when I get back I expect to see you in church; I said if you agree with me just smile, he smiled. As I went out the door his family said did you do the last rites? I said make sure he’s in church when I get back. The following week I was in our ministry and the back door opened, and a young man with a hospital bracelet on and a robe that was open in the back came walking down the aisle stood right at the end of the pulpit and looked at me and said I heard you.
I want to speak to every situation in your life that looks like it’s not going to make it, I want everyone who really believes that your best days are still ahead of you, lift your voice to the Almighty God and say Father, every day dream, everyday goal, every lost hope, today, breathe resurrection power on it. Every lost hope, my Father my Father, breathe resurrection power on it, thank You Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. And so shall it be for you in Jesus name. Prophesy over your own self, say so shall it be for me in Jesus mighty name.
He said we are to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Beloveds, our mindset, our attitude, our confidence is emboldened because we are in Him, and He is in us, and because He is in us and we are in Him, we are simply going through a process because we are being divinely repositioned from something to something, and the Almighty God in order to divinely reposition you has to locate you, has to have a place He’s trying to take you and then have the power to overcome obstacles, and the God that you and I serve is able, and so whatever He has promised you, I don’t care that you have gone through eight months of this year and certain things have not happened yet, please know that our God is a covenant keeping God, and whatever He has to do, listen, He has the ability to not only redeem your time and restore your years, but He can reverse the irreversible, so whatever He has promised you, please prophesy to someone and tell them it’s going to happen.
His love has been perfected in us in 1st John 4:17, it says that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world; whatever He has the ability to do, you and I can do, and greater works shall we do because He’s gone back to the Father. I need somebody who has some holy boldness to go ahead and just say I can do greater.
I always try and tell this testimony whenever I’m building someone’s faith; my wife and I have been together now for about 50 years we’ve been married, this September will make 46 years we’ve been married and many years ago when we had our first son, we had our plan because she comes from a family of six and I come from a family of six, and we decided we were going to have six children, that was the plan. The only problem was she had complications from after my first son and they wound up having to cut her and they told us there would be difficulty but we had a second son and I got a little discouraged, my wife was excited because she wanted boys, I wasn’t excited because I wanted some girls, and I challenged God, I said God, (I shook my fist and said) can’t You do girls?
I’m just glad God didn’t knock my head, and the next thing, my wife was pregnant again and I was believing for girls; I wanted a girl, this is the last one because the doctor said we could not keep doing this, and so I said I have to get a girl, and as it turned out, my wife got pregnant and we were in expectation and somewhere around the seventh month, the doctor got concerned because he saw two sets of arms, two sets of legs , but one head and one body.
And he came to me and said Mr. Sturdivant, this ‘thing’ that your wife is carrying is going to kill her, so we need to do emergency surgery to get this ‘thing’ out of her. I told them no, whatever this is that God has given me, I’m going to raise this and take care of it. They called it a ‘thing’/ and then they said well, will you sign the papers not holding us responsible for wherever happened? So I signed the papers, you all are not responsible for anything that happens, and then they came back later, this was many years ago, you know today, you take these sonograms and it shows the whole feature, the gender and everything, but back then they didn’t have that.
So they then came back later after I said we’re not going to abort this, they then said well, good news, Mr. Sturdivant, I said what’s the good news after what you’ve already told me? They came back later and said we’ve come to find out that it’s not a ‘thing’ with two arms and two legs and one head but the way it was laying, its twins, but the way they are laying, one is crushing the other and so, one is going to live and the other one is going to die or they will both live and your wife will die, or your wife will live and both of the twins will die. And I said that’s not what His book says, He that has brought this thing into conception, He’s going to fulfill and finish everything that He says He’s going to do.
And so they said well, will you sign the papers saying that you will not hold the hospital or the doctors responsible for whatever this is, and I signed the papers, and to the glory of God and the shame of the devil and the shock of the doctors, the thing that was a ‘thing’ in the seventh month wound up being twin daughters just a month and a half later.
Because I want you to understand that you don’t go by what the people say no matter how intelligent they are. I thank God for doctors, but their name is called ‘licensed practitioners’, that they have a license to practice and because things change on a regular basis, then things have to be updated and their knowledge comes as things are updated, but our God is not a science, He is Omniscience, meaning that all knowledge of all things pertaining to science comes from God.
So even though I got a ‘its not possible’ from the doctors in a hospital, I got a ‘He’s more than able’ from God, so the question is who has the final say? Well, Jehovah has the final say, so I want to prophesy to someone that’s watching me, listening to me right now that whatever has been spoken trying to truncate your destiny, by the authority of the Almighty God as I stand on this exalted altar, it shall be reversed in Jesus name. if you can receive it, shout hallelujah!
Jump to your feet and pray this prayer very quickly, say Father, in my own life, please reverse the irreversible, pray like warriors. In my own life, reverse the irreversible; everything called impossible, everything called incurable, everything called improbable, Daddy, reverse the irreversible, thank You Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. And so shall it be for you in Jesus name. Prophesy over your own self, so shall it be for me in Jesus mighty name.
The text that I read in your hearing, here’s Paul saying and we know that all things work together for good. That means that no matter what is happening in your life, can you imagine what is happening in your life that seems tragic, is going to lead to triumph.
I wrote a book some years ago entitled ‘No Longer Crippled’ that daddy announced from the altar in camp, and it talks about having the ability to find an advantage in the very face of adversity. And I’m praying for someone who’s watching and listening to me right now, that right in the midst of what you’re doing that is trying to intimidate you, the Almighty God will show up on your behalf, I believe that someone who is looking at me right now is not going to leave the same way that You came.
Paul says that it is working together for my good. It doesn’t feel good, it doesn’t look good, but it’s working together for good. Can you please get some confidence in you and say it as if you’re angry, and let the adversary know, even in this it’s working for my good, if you can receive it, shout a big hallelujah.
Let me conclude this. I have much to say, but I’m going to ask, please, convince my brother to let me come back again. I’ll finish the message Amen. Some years ago, my wife was in the hospital, it was on the date of my birthday and she was eating something, and suddenly she was unable to stop coughing. I thought she had gotten something because it was too much pepper that it had gone down the wrong pipe, and we got her water and got her some seltzer, got everything we could to try to get her okay, and it would not stop. We made it through the night and the next day, I was leaving to go somewhere and my children were around, and I said, just keep a watch on your mother till I get back; I had not gone for maybe 10-15, minutes down and they said, dad, we’re rushing her to the hospital.
When they rushed into the hospital, they said that two of the veins, (I don’t know the right terms) that go to the heart out of the three were completely shut down, and the other one was clogged, and they said we don’t know why this woman is still alive, because she’s supposed to be dead. I reminded them that you may not know why she’s still alive, but her purpose is not finished yet, and we were able to overcome the roughness of the situation, and she then had to go back again; and she’s not supposed to be going back because I took one of the dress from here when daddy had spoken, I had wrapped that around her and there’s no way this is supposed to be a return of what we already had victory over.
While we were in the hospital, my wife and I were on our way to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and she’s in the hospital now, this is on a Thursday, and we had tickets to leave out on that Saturday, and she’s in the hospital. They said, Mr. Sturtevant, it does not look good. I said, what is the problem? They said it appears that what was taken care of before has returned, they said, and we’re going to have to keep her and do surgery. Everybody was around; my children were around, my wife’s PA, my wife’s mother, everybody was in the room, we were in the room, and the nurse was in there with the machine hooked up to my wife, saying, this number has to be this, and this has to be this, and this has to be that, and since those numbers are not that, we’re going to have to keep her.
I said, but you can’t keep her, they said, why? I said, because I’ve got two tickets for her and I to go away for our anniversary. They said, her heart is not going to be able to take it, I said, her heart has got to because I’ve got two tickets for her and I to go away. They said, we’re sorry, sir, but that’s not going to happen. I said, can you please just tell me what the numbers are supposed to be on each machine? And they said, well, this one the number’s supposed to be this, and this one the number’s supposed to be this, and this one the number’s supposed to be that. I said, okay, thank you so much, can you give me one hour? And they said, why do you need one hour? I said, I just want to pray, because I remember in Scripture that some people got healed the self same hour, and so I just wanted one hour. I told the nurse, can you step out and take this machine out with you, and just give me one hour. I gave my children a piece of money, I said, get out, go to the store, go do something; told my adjutant to my wife, thank you for being here, but you can go ahead and take my mother in love home, you all can go ahead and go, I don’t want nobody in this room but her and I.
Then I had her laying on the bed, turned the lights down low, I said, baby, just rest your eyes, I’ll be right back. She said where are you going? I said, I’ll be right back. And I walked around the corridor of the hospital for one hour, just praying. Doctors kept seeing me walk by, they nodded at me, I nodded at them. I kept on speaking in tongues, walking on around; people were looking at me, trying to figure out who I was talking to, because I wasn’t quiet, it was my wife’s life, so quiet was not on the agenda.
By the time I came back around a couple of times I looked at my watch, an hour had passed, I went into the room, as soon as I went in, I put my hand on my wife, she said where did you go? I said, I was just walking around talking to God. The nurse came with the machine, she said, can I come in now? I said, come on in. Tell somebody when you know that you know that you know, you’re not intimidated anymore; nurse came on in, hooked up the machine, and when she hooked up the machine, she looked at it and this number was where it was supposed to be, and this number was where it was supposed to be, and this number was where it was supposed to be, and they said, Mr. Sturdivant, I said, yes ma’am, they said, we’re going to get the papers together to sign the release. I said I know you are, you know why, I got two tickets where we’ve got to leave to go and celebrate our anniversary.
I don’t know who I’ve come to talk to today, where you have been given a bad report, but the Almighty God sent me across the water to come here and to tell you if you got faith to believe it within the next hour that that which did not look like it was going to happen, He says, I will turn the tide in your favor. Stand to your feet very quickly, pray this prayer arrow, say, Father. Father, if You’ve done it before, You can do it again, do it for me right now. Go ahead, pray now, pray; if You’ve done it before, You can do it again, do it for me now. Thank you, Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. So shall it be for you in Jesus name. If you receive it, shout a big hallelujah.
I don’t want you to be discouraged no matter how your situation looks, because we number one have confidence. Paul says, ‘and we know’, he didn’t say ‘and we hope’, he didn’t say ‘and I speculate’, he says, ‘and we know’, beloved, it is your knowledge of God and what He has done that gives you confidence that He can do it again, because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Hebrews 13: 8, literally for you and I who believe God, as it says in Revelation 1: 8, here’s what it says. it says He is Alpha, Omega; He’s beginning, He’s end; He is first and last, that means that the project is completed before you start it, your future is His past because it’s all ready done. See, He’s Alpha and Omega at the same time, we think he’s Alpha and Omega as if there’s some space, no, He’s Alpha and Omega at the same time. Do you know what Alpha and Omega are? Those are Greek alphabets, that means that our God is an alphabet God, what does that mean to you and I? That means that any problem that you can spell with alphabets, God is greater than that problem.
I said, any problem you can spell, can you spell your problem? Do you use alphabets to spell it? God is greater than that problem, for example, let’s take the big one, ‘cancer’, C- A- N- C- E- R, the alphabet God takes out the A and N and one of the C’s, He transposes the R and E, drops in a U so that ‘cancer’ becomes ‘cure’, because the alphabet God can rearrange alphabets so that what looked like it was going to kill you can’t do you any harm. So that’s why I boldly declare for the final time, I boldly declare over you that I know that even in what you are in, is working together for your good. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in you; you are moving from faith to faith, you are moving from strength to strength, and you are moving from glory to glory.
Jump to your feet for the final time to pray this final prayer, lift your voice loud and clear to the Almighty God and say, Father, Father, that which wants to destroy me, let it push me into my destiny. Go again, pray like warriors now, my Father, my Father, that plan of the adversary to destroy me, let it push me into my destiny, work this together for my good. Thank You. Baba, thank You Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
My Father and my God, You said concerning Your prophet Samuel that not one word that he spoke fell to the ground; Daddy, every utterance, every decree, every prophetic declaration that’s been made in this place from this altar, bring it to fruition in Jesus name.
You said through Your prophet Isaiah that Your word would not go out and return void, but it would accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. Because we are called according to Your purpose, let Your word accomplish its purpose in our lives in Jesus mighty name.
My Father and my God, You left it on record, even by the speaking of Your own Son that Your words are spirit and Your words are life, my Father and my God, everything that was supposed to be death. I cancel every assignment of the adversary, and I speak life over Your people, you shall not die but live, even in your polluted blood, I said live, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. Come on, shout amen, clap your hands and give our God a praise in this place.
