Daddy, that’s the way You want it, I stand here today in Your name; Daddy I came, nothing to offer beyond that I represent You as You have purposed, release Your blessings, release joy, envelope somebody with Your glory; Daddy make this the day that we will never forget – the 30th day of the fourth month, Daddy in every ramification, make it a day we will always talk about for good.
Please Lord, just take all the glory; I release myself absolutely, anything I must not say shut it out; whatever must be said, let it come; and the person that the word is meant for, let the one not miss the moment. Thank You Father, in Jesus matchless name we pray.
I bring you greetings from the regional headquarters; we call it the headquarters of blessings because I am blessed, you are blessed, we are blessed and we are the blessed family.
I’m just going to share a story with us and as the Lord will help us, we’ll be able to just point out a few points hoping that every point will touch somebody for good and it will be something that will bless your life.
So it’s the story about David; our scripture this morning is actually 1st Samuel 30:1-19; you’ll allow me to just read the story from the scripture because at least once a week when we get into church we should read scripture; “And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. 6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor. And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;
12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
13 And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.
14 We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.
15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.
And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all”
Brethren this morning, I had been battling with a title, because this morning we are talking to somebody who is in a similar situation, ‘it will end in victory’, that is somebody’s title; another will say ‘you will recover all’.
Brethren, just about five points and I believe God will help us; number 1, a situation, and the Lord will want me to put the first point (as it stands) from verses 1 to 6 that reversals of fortune, troubling times, down turns, losses, all of these are normal part of life, praise the name of the Lord!
Because that situation that you are in now, God knows about it, it’s a normal tamper of life but the good thing about it is that it will end in victory, it will end in joy for somebody.
You know the story is David fighting other people’s battles, supporting some other people, helping other people, and he came back to find that he was in a situation that was not very pleasant; his wives, all his properties, everything was gone. I don’t know where you are in a time like this, that situation is not anything out of the way; anyone can suffer reverses, anyone can suffer attacks, anyone can suffer health challenges, anyone can go through economic downturn; I don’t know that low that you are in today, God knows and the end is what is important, it will end in lifting for you.
Brethren, as we are talking of that first month, I want you to know that it is not a measure of your spirituality, your diligence or your hard work that you are going through that, sometimes they’ll tell you the devil will look at you and say look at you, it’s because you are not praying enough, it’s because you did this and that, even people, but anyone, the most spiritual, the most diligent, the most knowledgeable can get into a time of reverse.
And I also want to say David wept, people wept with him; there is a season, if you have to cry this season, cry, praise the name of the Lord! You are human, no matter anointed you are; you know some of us like playing it big; my wife’s cousin who is late, I don’t know how she put it in Yoruba but its loosely translated to ‘only a person who has not seen fight will say he is a strong man’, praise the Lord!
When you are the one at the thick of it, you will remember you are still human, praise the name of the Lord! So if you have to weep, weep, but the beautiful thing is that weeping may endure for a night but joy is coming for the morning, and that’s why I’m here this morning because your oy time has come.
I want you to also note as I’m leaving here that with such low times, people can say anything, even friends, people who we are smarter than, they will begin to tell you, it is normal, I just wanted to express that what you are going through is known, the stories in the Bible are to let us know that there is nothing new under the sun; great men have gone through low times, small men have gone through low times, the most spiritual man in the whole region called Job went through tough times; rich guy who had made wealth, you cannot say that he didn’t have capacity but it came the season of attack, the enemy attacked his money, the enemy attacked his family, the enemy attacked his health, so whatever people say at that time, take it.
I don’t know what people said to you that have brought you so low, you’d say is it me? But to conclude that one, self-encouragement from the Lord is what we need, that’s why it’s important you load yourself in the good times with the word of God. The best time is the time to tap on the promises of God; it’s the time to say Lord, I will not die, I will live to declare Your works; it’s the time to tell the Lord that God is too faithful to fail you. I wrote in my note, and that was the song God gave me [Music]
Is there somebody who is a witness this morning, I declare to you God is too faithful to fail you. Remember the things He had done in the past and encourage yourself in the Lord.
Point #2; in this season, please don’t make a next move without seeking God’s direction, very important because we are talking the partway, it will end in victory, but you need to seek God; go to God, what next? That’s what David did, he asked God what next, what do I do?
If you look at Genesis 26, you will see a man who got into a season of such, his own was an economic downturn and that was Isaac; if you were to act based on geography, he was to move south because like Nigeria, if there is no rain in the north, what do you do? You move to the south; his fathers had done same before, they had moved down to Egypt in a season of famine; I beg of you, don’t depend on your own understanding, lean not on thine own understanding, lean not on experience, tell the Lord what do I do.
I have a word from the Lord for somebody this morning, you will recover all. God is going to give you specifics today, before tonight is over, spend some time with the Lord, Daddy this is my real situation, what next do I do?
Number 3; act on God’s instruction, very important dimension. There are many of us who hear what God says but we want to take what we want out of it; either we go into total disobedience because it doesn’t seem to make sense or we decide to do half-obedience (cherry-picking), I take this and not take that; obey God completely.
I always call it the mother’s advice; in John 2, you have the story, when wine ran out, that is a downturn for a man who is at his wedding. I call it the mother’s advice; Mary said whatsoever He asks me to do, do it, so I’m giving you that because God is going to speak something to somebody today; this 30th of April, God is going to say something; whatever He asks you to do, do it, and as you do it, He will make it come to pass. [Music]
Number 4, be on the lookout, there is a destiny helper somewhere; God always positions some persons on our way, may you not miss him. In the case of this person, he was an unlikely person, a sick Egyptian servant, nothing fit it, that’s why you must not look down on anybody, that’s why you must not treat people badly, let’s just learn to be people who just live life treating everybody we meet on our life’s path with dignity, treat them with love, if you can help please help them. See, that destiny helper may be the one to lead you there.
Somehow the Lord also puts in my heart the story of Joseph; he was in the prison, somebody who already had a dream of greatness, he was in his own season of downturn. Many of us when we are going through our own problem, we don’t want to help other people but in the midst of his own downturn, he was still helping to interpret another person’s dream when his own dream has not come to pass. But it was that man he helped in the prison that was his destiny helper to being taken to the palace; somebody will get to the palace. I don’t care how deep in the pit you are, today, you are getting to the very top. That’s the word the Lord gave me, you are going to end in victory.
The conclusion on the matter number 5 is that you will recover all. God’s words will surely come to pass; you may not know how, you may not know when, He will do it for you. God has various ways, look at these people; God will cause you to triumph over your enemies.
God is saying to somebody, this battle you will not need to fight but you will get the victory. Somebody is moving into the month of May to enjoy victory without a fight; God can paralyze your enemies; God can make your enemies to be dancing and rejoicing and getting drunk at the point you will get your victory.
David recovered all because God said it; God is saying to somebody today, take the word of God this morning as He will speak to you today, obey those words, move forward, don’t stay cast down, encourage yourself, that’s why this word of God came, it’s a word of encouragement and then be on the lookout for the strategic people God has positioned because He knows the end from the beginning. Be sure you don’t ignore them, be sure you don’t treat them anyhow and I want to assure you, like David, you will lack nothing.
This year, the Lord started with us at the regional headquarters, our theme for this year is ‘the Lord is my Shepherd’ and the main line says ‘I shall not want’, you will lack for nothing. God has good thoughts concerning you; you are His sheep, it’s His business to take care of you, He will carry you; God will lead you in the right path, you are coming with celebration, this downturn is not the end of your life, it will end in victory, that is the word of God.
The only person who cannot take this word is the one who is not a child of God; I came with a word for the children of God, I came with a word from the Lord that for a child of God, where you are you are not ending there, that you are ending on the top again.
This year will be the year you will speak about the first four months that you thought would be another bad year, but see what the Lord has done, that will be somebody’s testimony by December.
The good news is that there is opportunity this morning because all of us are going to pray together but if you are not yet a child of God it’s not a big deal, there is a day. Many years ago, I was like that hustling up and down; one Sunday morning, I didn’t intend to go to church, I don’t know how I entered my car and drove; I just heard some people singing on the other side of the road, I drove and turned my car to the church and entered the church, somebody preached like this, I stepped out, I didn’t know how I stepped out and God saved me.
That’s why I want to give opportunity this morning, it’s nothing to be ashamed about, everybody has a day and today is somebody’s day; so if today is the day you want to say I won’t let today pass, you want to end the month of April becoming a child of God, my job is to pray for you first and lead you to Christ.
[Altar call]
[Prayer]
Lift up your hands to the Lord and say Father, I have heard Your word, I receive Your word as the word from God; I am not ending where I am, I am ending in victory, I am ending in joy. Every step I need to take, whatever is my own part, help me to do it.
[Prayer]
Daddy I want to thank You for the word today; Daddy You are the One who knows the situation of anyone here and You decided to send the word, in the life of every one of us saying amen, let there be a performance of Your word.
All those who have stolen from us; whether they be men, whether they be demons, all the powers of darkness that are sitting upon the things that belong to us, today, let Your power paralyze them; Daddy, let us recover all; let there be nothing lacking; let us end this year in abundance; abundance of health, abundance of wealth, abundance of every blessing, and let us dance out of this month with joy. Take all the glory and let the celebration be our own; thank You Father, in Jesus name we pray.
