The Lord used Elder Felix Ohiwerei ,Pastor Shadrack Olu-Olusakin and his wife to birth the vision of setting up RCCG Christ The Lord Central Parish at the gate area of Lekki Phase 1,  the first service took place on October 4, 1998.  Through the enablement of the Holy Spirit and substantial support from Elder Ohiwerei and Pastor Olusakin, land was acquired at 1 -5 Admiralty Road as the Permanent site for the Parish in 1998. From very humble beginnings with services under tents and containers as offices and children’s church, a befitting auditorium was built and completed in October 2004. The building initially named  the Cathedral and later named RCCG Christ The Lord Central Parish was dedicated to the Glory and Honour of God on February 13, 2005 by the General Overseer , Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

The Parish transformed into a Province (LP 20) in September 2006  under the leadership of Pastor Matthew Olutunmbi. During his time , the construction of the Youth Hall commenced. Thereafter , Pastor Okey Mofunaya took over as Pastor in charge of LP 20 in September 2008, during his time CTL Parish birthed mega parishes such as Floodgate Parish and Overflow Parish and the Youth Hall was completed. Monday Prayer Chain was also introduced at this time.

Pastor Tunde Netufo took over as Pastor in charge of LP 20 in September 2018 and immediately commenced the transitioning of CTL to a Millennial Church status. The main auditorium and Youth hall were remodeled in 2021. Significant investments were made to transform the church with attendance reaching an average of 1,200 per Sunday Service. The social media architecture of the Parish is undergoing an overhaul.

We are a word and prayer based church. This is achieved through our services on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; and other church programs. We reach out to our environment through our evangelism (neighbourhood, prison, hospital etc) and the external LED. We also have very strong Christian Social Responsibility initiatives leveraging our various welfare programs and non- conventional events like the annual economic summit, family fun day etc.

CTL has discipled a lot of Christians over the years and has very well entrenched Spiritual Growth programmes. At CTL testimonies abound as God answers our prayers.
