Let’s turn that song into a prayer and ask the Almighty God to draw us nearer to Him. Let’s pray, let’s talk to Him. My Lord and my God, please draw me nearer to You in all my doings, in all my activities, draw me nearer, let me be closer to You in the mighty name of Jesus.
Draw my family nearer, my wife, the children You gave us, the grandchildren, draw each and every one of them nearer to You, draw Your church nearer to You in the mighty name of Jesus. Even our country Nigeria, draw Nigeria closer to You in the mighty name of Jesus.
Brethren, let’s pray, let’s commit this into the hands of the Almighty God. Glory be to Your holy name, thank You Father, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
We are still in the eighth month of the year and our father in the Lord has declared that this is the month of our newness. We are going to use that and cry and say Father, for the rest of this month, let me experience Your newness; in every area of my life, in every area of my life, let me experience Your newness in the mighty name of Jesus. Renew everything concerning my life in the mighty name of Jesus; my career, my business, all that concerns me, my family, my loved ones, renew everything concerning us and let Your name be glorified. Thank You Father, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Philippians 4:4 says rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, rejoice. Your joy shall be full in the mighty name of Jesus. We’re going to pray and say Father, this week, cause my joy to be full in the mighty name of Jesus. Pray, confirm this week into the hands of the Almighty God, cause my joy to be full in the mighty name of Jesus, surround me and my family with the things of joy in the mighty name of Jesus, surround us with the things of joy and let Your name be exalted. Thank You Father, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Philippians 4:7, it says, and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. For one to make progress in life, you need peace, not just ordinary peace but divine peace, peace from above in the mighty name of Jesus.
We are going to cry and say Father, let Your peace reign in my life, let Your peace reign in Nigeria in the mighty name of Jesus. From east to west, from north to south, let Your peace reign in Nigeria, let Your peace also reign in my life in the mighty name of Jesus. Oh, thank You, Father, glory be to Your holy name, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
John 3: 27 says, John answered and said, a man can receive nothing, except it be given from heaven. We are going to cry for open heavens this morning, let’s lift up our voice and say Father, open the windows of heaven, pour out Your blessings upon me; this week, pour out your blessings upon me.
Cry unto your Maker, cry unto the King of kings. Let me experience open heavens in all that I do and let me receive Your blessings in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You Father, blessed be the name of the Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
I welcome you all to today’s service and to the glory of God, the name of the Lord shall be glorified in Jesus name. Let me also use this opportunity to also say thank you to the PICR region 71, for the privilege for me to stand before you this morning. The Lord will continue to enlarge his coast, and even for the entire pastorate, the Lord will also continue to enlarge your coast in the mighty name of Jesus. So, good morning brethren and welcome to today’s service.
Today, our topic for this morning is “There is a Place for You”. There is a place for you, there is a place for me, no power, no principality will ever take your place in the mighty name of Jesus. That place that the Almighty God has reserved for you, you will inherit it in Jesus name.
Our text this morning is taken from the book of Isaiah 49: 15 & 16, and I’ll read quickly. It says, can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet I will not forget thee. The Lord will not forget you in the mighty name of Jesus. And verse 16 says, behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. The Lord will never forget you because He has crafted out a place for you in Jesus name.
God did not create any of us by accident, I say this because in Psalm 139: 14, it says, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. God created us for a purpose; He said we are made fearfully and wonderfully and marvelous at the works and that our soul knoweth right well. So you were not created by accident but you were created for a purpose and there is a place for you in God’s plan. You will fulfill destiny in Jesus name.
Jeremiah 1:5 talks about Prophet Jeremiah whom God sanctified and ordained before he came out from his mother’s womb. By the way, that name Jeremiah, what does it mean? It means God has appointed someone. Even while he was still in the womb, God ordained him for a purpose; it means that God has appointed him, and in most cases, we find out that the names we bear, the names we give our children have one or two things to do with their destinies.
That’s why as parents, we should also seek the face of the Lord before we even name our child, that also helps to shape the destiny of our children. I pray that our children will fulfill purpose in Jesus name. Wherever place that the Almighty God has reserved for them, that place will be kept for them in Jesus name, no power will take it away from them in Jesus name.
The same thing also applies to the prophet, Isaiah. In Isaiah 49:5, the Prophet Isaiah was formed as a servant of the Lord. We also have the case of John the Baptist; we know the story of John the Baptist, the forerunner of our Lord Jesus Christ, you can see that in the book of Luke 1: 13 – 15, how he was ordained, how he was confirmed as the forerunner of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God prepared a place for each and every one of them including yourself and including myself, and that is why I say unto you, you are not here by accident, there is a purpose for you and you shall fulfill that purpose in Jesus name. I declare that somebody here will fulfill his destiny, no power will prevent you from fulfilling your destiny in the mighty name of Jesus.
Now let’s look at situations, examine some issues confirming the fact that yes, God has reserved a place for me and you, and those places we shall step into them in Jesus name.
The first point I want to raise is that God does not forget, that’s why He is God. Our anchor text in Isaiah 49: 15 confirms that, it says, yea, a woman may forget her suckling child but God does not forget. Even verse 16 goes on to affirm the fact that we are all graven in the palms of His hands and our works are continually before Him. And what does that mean? Everything about us, God knows, God sees and God works on them in the mighty name of Jesus.
Let us see what happened in the case of David in the book of 1st Samuel 16: 10 – 11. Before we go into that Bible text, let’s recall that Samuel was sent by the Almighty God to go and anoint another king to replace King Saul, and he went and met with Jesse and his sons. But the father of David totally forgot about David, he didn’t even remember him, presented seven of his sons.
So let’s go through the Bible text, 1st Samuel 16: 10-11. It says, again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, the Lord hath not chosen these. 11And Samuel said unto Jesse, are here all thy children? And he said, there remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. Praise the Lord.
We know the rest of the story because God reserved a place for David; even his father forgot him, but God did not forget him. God will not forget you in Jesus name. God will always remember you in Jesus name.
If you are nursing the feeling that the world has moved on and forgotten you, let me remind you that it will not be so, if the world forgets you, God will not forget you in the mighty name of Jesus.
And there was the story of Hannah in 1st Samuel 1: 19, it says, and they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her. The world may forget you but God will remember you in the mighty name of Jesus.
The case of Hannah, Hannah was mocked by the world, led by her adversary, Penninah, but what happened? God remembered her. Eventually even Samuel, the prophet Samuel came through her and many other children also came through her. That same God is the same today, He’s the same yesterday, today and forever, He will remember you today in Jesus name. Your testimony shall be ‘God has remembered me’ in the mighty name of Jesus.
And the second point I have here is that God has a plan for you, God has a plan for me. Each and every one of us, God has a plan because we are not here by accident. In the book of Jeremiah 29:11, it is written, it says, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. That is God’s plan for you, He wants to give each and every one of us an expected end, and we fulfill that end in Jesus name.
So what is God saying? God is saying simply, you are in my agenda and my plan, just hold on to me, those expectations shall be fulfilled in your life in Jesus name.
We also have the case of David in the book of Acts 13: 36. It says, for David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption. David fulfilled destiny, he fulfilled purpose, what God had ordained for him, they were all accomplished in his lifetime and then eventually the Almighty God called him home.
Recall that we talked about David earlier, the same man that his father forgot about but God did not forget him, God remembered him because God had a plan for him and his plan was fulfilled in the mighty name of Jesus.
My prayer for each and every one of us this morning is found in the book of Psalm 138: 8, it says, the Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, oh Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. So shall it be for you and so shall it be for me in the mighty name of Jesus. The works of our hands, the Lord will not forsake, He will remember us in the mighty name of Jesus, and He will perfect all that concerns us in Jesus’ name.
And the next point I have here is also titled, your seat is reserved. There is a special seat for you, the Lord has reserved a seat for you, no man will take your seat in the mighty name of Jesus, no man will take my own seat in the mighty name of Jesus. What God has proposed for you shall be established in the mighty name of Jesus.
In kingdom matters, you do not need to struggle because your seat is reserved, you don’t need to struggle for what belongs to you. Whether the enemy likes it or not, in one way or the other, the Lord will make it available to you in the mighty name of Jesus.
Have you been in a place where they are trying to scheme you out? Where they are trying to take you out? Whether in your office, in your business, among your competitors, wherever it is, God has reserved a seat for you and that seat He has kept for you, no man can take it, no power, no principality will take that seat in the mighty name of Jesus.
My authority on this is based on Psalm 23:5, it says, thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; (and) my cup runneth over. You shall sit at that table, nobody will deny you a seat at that table because the One that created that table has already reserved a seat for you in the mighty name of Jesus. You will not miss your seat in His presence, in the presence of your enemies your cup shall overflow, your seat shall be preserved, your cup will run over in the mighty name of Jesus.
I also declare that your cup will overflow with wisdom, with knowledge and with understanding in the mighty name of Jesus. Wherever you sit at that table, your words of wisdom shall never be ignored in the mighty name of Jesus, the Lord will fill your mouth with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in the mighty name of Jesus. Whatever you need to remain relevant in the affairs of men, the Lord will make a way for you. You are not ordinary, you are created for a purpose in the mighty name of Jesus.
Matthew 21:42 (NIV), it says, Jesus said unto them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. Where the Lord has set you up, no man can deny you, eventually, you will become the cornerstone of that place in the mighty name of Jesus.
They will not do anything without asking after you, they will say what do you think about this situation and what will be your song? It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes; it is the Lord’s doing, I will praise Him. That shall be somebody’s new song when the Lord has made you to sit on that seat that He had reserved for you, you shall sing a song of joy, a song of victory, that shall be your portion in the mighty name of Jesus.
Then number four point I have here, we have the upper room experience. I’m sure we have all read about the upper room in the Bible, what transpired at the upper room, we can recall some of the incidents that took place. And by the way, our ushers that minister in the gallery, they always refer to the gallery as the upper room, that they are ministering in the upper room. We shall all minister in the upper room in the mighty name of Jesus.
So it was there that the Lord Jesus told the apostles, He took them there, asked them to prepare a place, the upper room, and then there it was that He washed their feet, it was there that they had the last supper and the communion.
Let’s see how He instructed them in the book of Mark 14: 13- 15. It says, and he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water, follow him. 14And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, the Master saith, where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples? 15And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. That shall be our lot in Jesus name.
As we also step into our upper room, a lot of things will change in our lives in the mighty name of Jesus; there shall be transformation in the mighty name of Jesus; that place that the Almighty God has reserved for you, you will inherit it in Jesus name. Your life will be transformed, those who look at you will say, “Can this still be you?” Yes, you will tell them that it is the Lord’s doing and is marvelous in my eyes in the mighty name of Jesus. sThat is the story of the upper room.
Importantly, it was at the upper room that the disciples received the Holy Spirit. After our Lord Jesus had ascended into heaven, it was there while they were still gathering in the upper room, praying and committing everything onto the hands of the Almighty God that the Holy Spirit descended upon them.
You can also find that in the book of Acts 1: 13 – 14, it says, and when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphoeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
They were also there in the upper room after our Lord Jesus had gone and the Holy Spirit came upon each and every one of them and they were highly anointed. They were also transformed, their lives became totally different from what was before. Peter that didn’t have the boldness, that denied Jesus three times, now became very bold and the first time he ministered, about 120 souls were won and then he continued and other apostles also continued in that zeal.
My prayer for you and me is that our businesses, our careers, because we approach that upper room shall be transformed in the mighty name of Jesus. Our entire life shall be transformed in the mighty name of Jesus. What has not been going on well for us shall become well in the mighty name of Jesus. It shall be transformed because the Almighty God will transform in the mighty name of Jesus.
Tell your neighbor there is a place for you, and where is that place? There’s a place for you in the upper room. Let somebody shout hallelujah! There’s a place for us and that is the place of the upper room, as we imitate what the disciples were doing there because the Lord had made that provision for us. As we continue in prayer, serve God acceptably, serve our Lord Jesus, we have access to that upper room and our lives will never remain the same in Jesus’ name. There will be a complete transformation in all that concerns me and you in the mighty name of Jesus. It is the Lord’s doing and it shall be marvelous in our eyes in Jesus name.
And then as I begin to round up, there is also a place called ‘at the cross’. At the cross of our Lord Jesus, there is also a place there; some of us have visited there and there are some of us that are yet to have visited there. So probably today will be an opportunity for those who have not stepped there to be able to step there and the Lord will meet them in Jesus name. And if you have stepped there before and you are no longer sure of your salvation, you’re no longer sure of your standing, it’s a wonderful opportunity for you to repeat that visit, and as you do so, the Lord will meet you at your points of need in the mighty name of Jesus.
Matthew 11: 28 says, come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Jesus Christ paid our debts at the cross; Romans 5: 8 says, “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while that we are yet sinners, Christ died for us, (He died for you, He died for me). Have you been rising and falling and you are asking yourself what could be the problem? You shall fall no more in Jesus’ name. You will rise to take your seat at the appropriate place in Jesus’ name.
The cross of Jesus is right here before us at the feet of this altar, and those who step into it, the Lord will accept them, the Lord will comfort them and it shall be well with them in Jesus name. This means that peace of the mind will abound to you and all around progress shall be your destiny in the mighty name of Jesus.
But first of all, you also need to take that step, that step of faith to be able to walk into that place that the King of kings has reserved for you. Because 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new. Those things you did in the past, God is giving you opportunity, our Lord Jesus is giving you another opportunity.
Come to me, I will renew you, I will strengthen you, those things you did in the past that have been hurting you, He says they will be taken away from you, you will be a new creature and it shall be a new life for you in Jesus name. So Jesus is waiting for those who want to rededicate their lives unto Him again, if you have not accepted Him before, you have a wonderful opportunity now to come.
[Altar call]
Let’s be upstanding even as we still wait for them and take some prayers in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You Lord. Father, we just want to bless Your name, we want to give You thanks, we want to give You praise, we want to give You adoration, You are the King of kings, You are the Lord of lords.
Romans 9: 21 says, hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor? If there is anything in us that can deny us of that seat in that place, may the Lord take it away in the mighty name of Jesus. He is the potter and we are the clay, so we are going to cry and say Father, anything in me that is not of You, please take it away from me.
Let’s talk to Him, let’s cry unto Him. If there is anything in me that is not of You, Father, please take it away from me and let Your name be glorified. Have mercy on me, anything and everything that is in me that is not of You, Father, please take it away. Thank You, Father, blessed be the name of the Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Psalm 127:1 says, except the Lord build the house, the labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. We are going to use that and pray and say Father, rebuild my career, rebuild my business, rebuild my ministry, rebuild my home, rebuild my family, rebuild all that concerns me.
Let the Lord be the One to rebuild. Cry unto Him this morning, talk to Him, invite Him to rebuild all that concerns you. His word says that except the Lord builds a house, they labor but in vain. My Father and my God, rebuild all that concerns me, rebuild my home, rebuild my career, rebuild my business, rebuild me, rebuild everything in me, let it be rebuilt in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You, Father, blessed be the name of the Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
And we are going to take another prayer and say Father, do not allow my place to be taken by another. Cry unto Him, He has reserved a place for you, talk to your Maker, do not allow my place to be taken by another in the mighty name of Jesus.
My Father and my God, please keep me standing, keep me standing for the rest of my life till the end of days, don’t allow my place to be taken by another in the mighty name of Jesus. Oh, keep me standing, thank You, Father, blessed be the name of the Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Almighty God, we just want to bless Your name, we give You thanks, we give You praise, we give You adoration, we say blessed be the name of the Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
